earthing and singing

All I can say is I found this documentary on the concept of earthing, or grounding, very worth my while. It's so simple -- skin-to-skin contact with our beautiful earth is healing, energizing, relaxing, protective, whatever your body needs. I wrote a little about it here. If it's too cold outside to be barefooted, the same benefits occur with bare feet on a basement concrete floor. Also, touching something growing in the earth or using earth-grounding devices.

Listening to the cup song in Gaelic might make you feel good, too!

Happy weekending -- I'm planting garlic and stitching a mooncloth. Barefooted, it's warm outside. xo

  1. Can you feel me hugging you! This film is just FINE...I put it up on facebook and I'm mailing your blog to many folks...meanwhile, just so you know , I currently have no access to my email....a Blogger glich that will be improved mid next week when a friend comes to help...but I can mail and read blogs and access my face book....so thank you dear Peggy. I come here sure I'll be delighted, and always am...but tonight I'm jumping for joy. Friends in MA and I walk and swim bare and I always feel so much better...I can't do that here in NYC three flights up in an apartment...and limping on a cane from knee and hip issues...but in MA I'm always better. I'm going to try to get them (elders like me and often in pain...) to watch, and consider doing the grounding thing for the house. Love to you.

  4. So beautiful and soothing, thanks for sharing the video with us Peggy. I walked barefoot for years. I think my first pair of shoes (throngs) when I was almost 10 so I have a fare shared of walking barefoot and still love it. You always bring me down to earth and I do appreciate it - Hugs Nat

  5. Michelle, so glad you liked it! I am very excited about earthing and thrilled to spread the news whenever, however, I can. I've ordered a grounding bed sheet -- if you have grounded outlets, that might be something to think about. Our house is older so not all the outlets are grounded, I'll have to string the cord to a bathroom about 15 feet away until something more permanent can be done. Hope you get the computer issues cleared up soon. :)

  6. Deanna, those darn fire ants -- I just ordered a grounding bed sheet, as I told Michelle (above). Can't wait -- it was too cold out today to be barefooted. ;)

  7. Hi Sandi -- you are so welcome!! I know what you mean, he goes under the house during Alaskan winter to ground. It was in the 40's today and too cold. I tried for about 10 minutes and that was it. ;)

  8. Nat, thank you for your nice comment. I love knowing you walked barefoot as a child -- in Thailand, right? If I lived where it was warmer, I would love that. Now I can't wait for summer again. Maybe I need to move to Australia. :)
