skeleton leaf

We're fast approaching that bare-bones time of year. I look outside and see beautiful skeletons everywhere -- vines, shrubs and trees -- trellises and fences -- even the patio furniture without cushions.

Instead of making real skeleton leaves, I thought I'd stitch some. Linen on eco-dyed silk.

  2. Deanna, that's a tablecloth made of embossed velvet leaves tacked onto the base. I bought it somewhere but not sure where it was! Good colors for this time of year.

  3. Peggy- Love that dyed silk and bright stitches. That background is very interesting!

  6. Cindy, thanks -- that was a silk bundle of avocado skins, pink rose petals and blue larkspur, steamed and then weathered. I didn't have it labeled, but so easy to just look it up right here on my web log... how 'bout that? Guess I don't need to label anything anymore! ;-)
